Altın; bir yandan arzının sınırlı olması nedeniyle her ülkede ve her dönemde cazip bir tasarruf ve yatırım aracı olma özelliğini korurken, öte yandan ekonomik ve politik istikrarsızlıklardan kolayca etkilenerek fiyatında dalgalanmalar meydana gelen bir madendir.
